Once upon a time, on a gloomy day way back in 2014, a young girl called Holly embarked on an adventure. Amidst the foggy drizzle of said day, a warm orange glow caught her attention. it was in that moment that this story began...
a big tranquil gelding is what Holly was after, a 'been-there-done-it-got-the-rosette' chap to be precise. you know the type. It was a 14.3hh blank canvas called Lily who stole her heart though; a 5 year old chestnut mare. With a small University budget, Holly was told it'd be sensible to be patient, to search thoroughly, to wait for as long as it took. She was told that Finding a horse of a lifetime probably wouldn't happen overnight. She trusts her instincts implicitly though and is a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. That's why she ignored everyone's advice, said 'yes,' and bought the first horse she saw.

Turbulent at times, the pair have worked hard and their progress has been slow and steady. Their eventing didn't take any real direction until after they'd finished their first BE80 at Aston Le Walls in 2016 and both were known to have a pulse at the finish line. After all, neither of them had ever completed a cross-country course before.
Over the years Lily has become a popular mare, known on the yard for loving a chin scratch and having springs hidden somewhere in her feet. Amongst her small fan club are Emilie Chandler, Jeanette Brakewell, and Laura Jarvis and this makes her devoted owner very proud.

It's Lily's natural ability that opened her owners eyes to what they might be able to achieve together.Holly asks and Lily gives, then every day they push each other a little bit further. The story as it stands finishes there, but there's a few more chapters blooming.
